I have loved having my birthday at school today - three birthday cakes and about 100 hugs and kisses - gotta love this Latin culture! I have a sneaking suspicion that along with the cakes came the students' hopes that they wouldn't have to work in class today, but I was able to have my students eat their cake and do math too!! Tonight Jim, Dena, Helen and I will be having dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, La Cava. Saturday Jim and Dena are hiring a chef and having a small dinner party at our home. Life at 53 is good!

Happy Birthday!! What a wonderful way to celebrate!! Those kids love you! Hey--we are the same age--have to admit, I am just a few months older than you. I agree, life at 53 is good.
